Peace is Patriotic

A friend of mine once told me ¨You just watch too many news¨as she was stomping her right foot, that was correct and I was the first to admit it. Things are a little different around here, as Telenovelas dominate the airwaves in the evening and news coverage is more concentrated early in the morning, when I am on the move. Nevertheless as I saw a clip of George W on the Internet or Internets as he says, I had to follow up. For all you guys who did not see it, here is a brief unbiased transcript;

- Welcome Mr President , ¨Yes Welcome je je...!!¨- Mr President there are a few months left in your presidency, what are your thoughts? ..... (He pauses) ¨Oh yes, That we have kept this country safe from evil¨ - Mr President do you feel that you have accomplished your mission? ¨We have these terrorist that want to do us harm, these are bad people you know...¨

- Have you been successful? "We are the only ones that can keep America safe from these extremist, these are bad people¨ - How long can this go on? ¨Are you talking to me ?¨¨Oh I thought John Mc was here......¨Its tough to say, these are evil¨ - Mr President our sacrifices are enormous in lives and resources....... ¨Let me interrupt you. We are the only ones that can handle this danger to America¨,¨Let me put this in a different way.... There is danger from evil people to this country¨
Uh..Ok..Mr President do you believe that this will he handled by the next president? ¨Only Republicans can handle these evil, mean, dangerous, bad and ugly people¨ - The influence of the US in the world has diminished and our reputation tarnished, why is this? ¨I don't want to scare people but we are dealing with dangerous and evil villains......¨

- Let me change the subject Mr President.... How do you see oil prices affecting our way of life? ¨I am glad you ask that question.... There is a permanent danger to this country, we have to deal day by day with people that want to harm us, don't you see the real danger?¨ ¨I see it everyday¨

- Your approval rating is way down and it may not help the Republican candidate...... ¨People do not understand and people do not know of all these very, very dangerous evil people¨ ¨Like that bicycle over there, that is a dangerous vehicle in the hands of bad people¨

-You know Mr President that even in remote places they think you are an idiot......

¨What do you mean ?... How remote?¨ - Well lets say Santiago de......

¨I been to San Diego¨ - No Mr President this is Santiago de..... ¨Wait a minute.. I been to San Fran, I been with Dick to San Anton you know, and San Diego, Did I just say that?¨

- No, this is Santiago de Veraguas, Panama, Mr President

¨Let me see.. No, I have not been to San Tiago¨
